The Superior Health Foundation (SHF) is now accepting applications for Year 2 of its Proactive Grant Focus process for projects positioned to make an impact on improving food insecurities throughout the entire Upper Peninsula.
“The Superior Health Foundation awarded nearly $510,000 in funding in Year 1 to four organizations across the Upper Peninsula,” said Jim LaJoie, executive director of the Superior Health Foundation. “We recognize there were several non-profits that weren’t in position to apply for funding in Year 1. Thus, we encourage those organizations to submit requests for Year 2.”
The foundation will announce the award(s) at its Fall Grants Program, which will be held in October at the Holiday Inn in Marquette.
In 2021 and 2022, the SHF — along with a number of U.P. and statewide funding partners — will award more than $1.2 million in collective funding to address food insecurities.
SHF is open to renewing funding for year two, provided organization(s) successfully implement their year one plan and have a continued work plan for year two.
The deadline to apply is 11:59 ET on Friday, August 5, 2022.
