Megan Murphy
Chief Executive Officer
Megan joined the Superior Health Foundation as the CEO in 2024. She was raised in Ironwood, MI, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology and international relations from Grand Valley State University and a Master of Public Administration from Western Michigan University. She brings nearly 20 years of experience working in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors in West and Southeast Michigan, focusing on health, philanthropy, program development, and community engagement.
Prior to joining the Superior Health Foundation, Megan served as the director for community health and capacity building at the Michigan Health Endowment Fund, where she supported community-driven program implementation and nonprofit and collaborative capacity building.
She is an advocate for community-based organizations and is passionate about ensuring nonprofits have the tools they need to advance their mission.
Lauri Jarvi
Accounting and Grants Manager
A native of Negaunee, Laura received her bachelor’s degree in accounting/computer information systems from Northern Michigan University. She has been with the Superior Health Foundation since its founding in 2012.
In her current role, Laura oversees Foundation accounting and payroll, as well as database and grant management. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters and cheering for the Green Bay Packers.
Leah Berthiaume
Executive Assistant
Leah has been an integral part of the Superior Health Foundation since 2012. Leah is the face that greets you at the SHF office, always available to assist and provide a warm welcome.
Leah was born and raised in Marquette for most of her childhood. After living around the United States in her free-wheeling young adult days, she returned to Marquette, where she is at home by the therapeutic lake and woods.

Emily Ellis
Communications and Development Manager
Emily joined the Superior Health Foundation in 2022. Prior to joining the Superior Health Foundation, Emily worked extensively in the nonprofit sector, fostering connections and supporting inclusive initiatives.
Raised in the Upper Peninsula, Emily earned a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Human Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Her canine sidekick, Frank, is a friendly face at the SHF office.
